The Farm
The Creek Whitsundays is a beautiful 800 acre farming property located geographically west of Proserpine and just 30 minutes from Airlie Beach.
The property is predominantly run as a cattle farm, with approximately 120 head of Brahman and Brangus grazing the front 400 acres of highly fertile, low-line country, improved pastures, and natural watering holes which fill with beautiful flowering lilies during the wet season.
The undulating 400 acres at the back end of the property with it's sweeping views over the plains East and West largely remains natural bush with tree lined tracks crossing the many wet season waterways.
The Creek is home to an abundance of natural wildlife, dancing brolgas, wallabies, rainbow lorrikeets, bandicoots and nearby emus are all often spotted.
Although today the property is 800 acres it was once at the centre of thousands of acres and known to locals as Cedar Bend. The historic timber rail cattle yards were built to accommodate thousands of head of cattle that needed to be regularly mustered in and transported in and out to market. The property was iconic in the area for its position on the Old Coach Road which connected Bowen to Proserpine, a vital link for trade and stock in the early 20th century.
